Sustainability & Transparency.

Our Coffee.

We are always looking for the highest quality green beans from around the world. For Winemakers to achieve a vintage year, the conditions must be perfect for ensuring a high quality grape harvest. The same goes for coffee. We partner with leading green bean importers to source high-quality, sustainable, and ethically sourced produce to ensure we get the best beans available. In close collaboration and hand in hand with our core values, we aim to create a world of better and more sustainable coffee that empowers communities and farmers worldwide and helps to improve the lives of the people involved in the process.

Second step.

Once we have shortlisted our favourite coffees from the cupping table, we start to finalise our decisions based on how the coffee will taste using various brewing methods, particularly espresso and filter. We also like to forage a little deeper into the bean's origin. We are steadfast in supporting social causes within the coffee industry, which also comes into consideration in our choice. Once we have everything checked off the list, it's time to order the big bags of green beans and head to our roastery!

Third step.

Our beans have arrived, and it's time to roast. This step is where we get to be creative. Beans bound for our espresso blend will have different roast profiles to our single origin filter, so we must create parameters based on our beans and how we intend to brew them. Once we have created the right profile, our state-of-the-art Loring roaster will consistently save the parameters to produce an identical product over future roasts. After numerous tastings using various brewing techniques for quality control, we will bag and ship them to you!

Our Process.

First step.

We work with our suppliers to source a variety of green beans from around the world. Once we have 8-12 different samples, we sample roast them. Following roasting is the cupping process, which involves brewing each set of beans and going through a tasting procedure to work out the taste notes of each sample. Through this pivotal part of the roasting process, we decide what the best coffee for our customers is.

Selecting our coffee completely fair trade, ethically sourced coffee for your peace of mind

At Arthurs Creek Coffee Company, we always choose the best coffee available. It is as simple as that. So when we get the opportunity to choose between 3-4 equally great beans we look beyond the bean to support the causes important to us. We will always support farms that employ sustainable, ethical production techniques, invest in better living conditions and schooling for children, and promote equality for all.

We think supporting the specialty coffee industry is the key, as it allows coffee producers to earn enough to support their families and invest in their businesses. Paying a higher price for green coffee will enable farmers and communities to explore new varieties and implement growing and production techniques that support sustainability. Finally, we firmly believe that paying more will impact people and communities positively as fair wages result in better living and working conditions, making people feel empowered and excited about their work.

Another essential aspect when selecting our coffee is taking notice of the communities we work with. For example, if we partner with a busy café in our area, we will work closely with them to create a blend exclusively for them and their customers. Another coffee shop may have a more adventurous crowd willing to sample more exotic flavours. In this case, we will work with the café to produce an exuberant fruity coffee run through a filter.

Our coffee choices are for the communities around us and those needing help worldwide.

That's what we stand for.
